Panasonic is back with its new conception, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LC1 which is a very exciting camera and entering with force a very competitive market! It was presented in North America on the 13/2/04. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-LC1 will be sold for 1500in the United States, a very fair price. The Lumix DMC-LC1 offers a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1920. It can also be set at a lower resolution of 2048 x 1536, 1600 x 1200, 1280 x 960, 640 x 480. The image ratio (w/h) on the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LC1 is set at 4:3, for a total of 4.9 mega pixels. The lens's sensor of the Lumix DMC-LC1 is a CCD measuring only 2/3 " with a RGB color filter.

Panasonic included a digital zoom on the Lumix DMC-LC1 and included an internal flash which is always essential in a camera . The normal focus range between the camera lens and the main subject is 30 cm. The minimum shutter speed (min. exposition to light) on the Lumix DMC-LC1 was set at 8 seconds and the maximum shutter is 1/4000 seconds. Movie clips are also supported in this version which is always a useful function. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-LC1 includes an internal memory of 16 mb and can be extended with external storage by using SD/MMC card.
